The Integrate: Time and Space collection by Zuzunaga is part of the Alchemy series which is an exploration of the methodology of transformation. An analog photograph of an urban location is the basis of each design. The image is digitized then magnified and manipulated to create the design. The design is then further transformed as it is brought back into analog by skilled craftsmen weaving the fabric on a wooden loom. This award winning collection is a bold exploration of color and scale through the use architectural shapes and digital imagery. Made of ecologically friendly merino wool, each cushion is hand woven on a wooden loom in Spain by Teixidors. Teixidors began in 1983 as a social project to support people with learning disabilities by teaching them the craft of manual weaving; a practice the company still continues and has expanded.
